A special “Aviation Day” festival that both adults and children can enjoy will be held at Tokachi-Obihiro Airport!
There will be many special experiences in areas that are normally off-limits. Get excited seeing aircraft and fire engines up close, or try walking on the runway with your own feet. You’ll also have the chance to experience actual in-flight services provided by cabin crew (advance registration required).
If you get hungry, head to the kitchen cars offering delicious gourmet foods. Enjoy the festive atmosphere while snacking as you stroll. For kids, we recommend the inflatable play equipment and festival stalls. Play to your heart’s content and create the best memories.
With not only domestic flights but also routes to Korea now in service, Tokachi-Obihiro Airport is more vibrant than ever. Why not bring the whole family and spend an exciting day together? Here are some of the events on the program!
Fry to Fly Project (Household Used Cooking Oil Collection)
At the “Fry to Fly Project” booth, used cooking oil from households will be collected. The collected oil will be recycled as a raw material for environment-friendly, sustainable aviation fuel known as SAF (Sustainable Aviation Fuel).
This project contributes to the effective use of limited resources and measures against global warming, and is attracting attention as an initiative toward a sustainable society.
On the day of the event, if you bring used or expired vegetable oil (liquid at room temperature) in a PET bottle (2 liters or less), the first 50 people will receive a bottle of salad oil as a gift.
Gundam R (Recycle) Operation
The “Gunpla Recycling Project” aims to build a circular society by recycling runners (the frame parts of plastic models) from collected “Gunpla.” As part of that effort, the “Gundam R Operation” will be conducted.
At the Aviation Day festival, there will be distribution of “Ecopo” Gundam trial kits, assembly workshops, panel exhibits to learn about Gunpla recycling activities, and collection of used runners.
The target age is 6 and up; children under 6 can participate when accompanied by a guardian.
We encourage you to join in!
