Delivering Moor Hot Spring Nationwide with a Mobile Footbath
Fukui Hotel’s moor hot spring, also known as “beauty-enhancing water,” now appears at event venues as a footbath. The “mobile moor hot spring footbath” service was made possible through a crowdfunding project launched by Fukui Hotel’s young leader, Mr. Hayato Komatsu.
Komatsu says that, in rediscovering the appeal and value of moor hot springs—which had come to be taken for granted locally—he wanted “more people to learn about the unique qualities and benefits of this globally rare hot spring.” The crowdfunding campaign was successfully completed in May 2024, and the mobile footbath has already drawn crowds at many event venues throughout Tokachi.
One of the charms of a footbath is that you can enjoy the hot spring easily, without having to undress, whether indoors or outdoors. A particularly Tokachi-style service that received rave reviews was setting up the footbath next to an outdoor skating rink. It will be exciting to see which event it appears at next.

Here’s another piece of good news. In March 2025, Fukui Hotel launched “Yugokoro-bin,” a new service that delivers 100% moor hot spring water directly to your home. It is a very rare hot spring delivery service even within Japan.
Using a dedicated tank truck, the source water (about 45°C) is transported so that in roughly 20 minutes, your home bathtub is transformed into a moor hot spring. Available exclusively within the Tokachi area, the service starts at 3,500 yen (tax included) for a standard household bathtub (about 200L).
The service was born from a heartfelt wish: “We want to bring moor hot springs to people who can’t easily go to the hot spring.”
