This limited-time Avanto experience, where you move between a frozen lake and a sauna—a traditional Finnish bathing practice—is held at Lake Kuttari in Shintoku Town. Warm up in multiple outdoor saunas at the venue, then dip into cold water through a hole in the ice. It is a unique, extraordinary sauna experience made possible by Tokachi’s harsh winter environment.
After cooling down, take an outdoor air bath atop the lake on the “ice carousel,” floating on the ice. Enjoy a relaxing break with a sense of weightlessness under clear winter skies.
