No.8 Tokachi Farm White Birch Avenue

Located in Otofuke Town, Tokachi Farm is home to a straight 1.3 km avenue of white birch trees, one of Tokachi’s most iconic photo spots. The contrast between the birches and the snowy fields is especially beautiful, and in winter the area transforms into a silvery landscape distinct from summer.

With some luck, visitors may also observe the “horse driving exercise” held on weekday mornings from mid-January to late February. Watching farm horses weighing around one ton race 800 meters through billowing snow is a spectacular seasonal sight.

The grounds also feature scenic viewpoints overlooking the Tokachi Plain and the Daisetsuzan Mountains, as well as areas where grazing sheep can be seen (the observation deck is closed in winter). In addition to the birch avenue, strolling past notable trees such as the famous “Married Oak” adds to the enjoyment.
