The winter opening of Obihiro Zoo is back again this year!This year, it will be open on weekends and holidays from December 6, 2024 (Sat) to February 8, 2026 (Sat), excluding December 29–January 3. The zoo will also open on Fridays during the Ice Festival period and on January 30 (Fri).
With attractions available inside the park, it’s a great place for families and couples even during winter. Conveniently located near central Obihiro, it’s easy to visit for a casual day out. On December 7 (Sun) and 14 (Sun), there will be a guided animal observation tour called “ObiZoo Expedition Team,” and on December 20 (Sat), a program to learn about animal ecology called “ObiZoo Terakoya” will be held (advance registration required; details available via the links).
A visit to the zoo in winter is a truly special experience. In the crisp, clear air of the season, learn about the animals’ behaviors and enjoy making warm memories with your family and friends.
